Viper Presents: rjtheweirdo
In an era of manufactured personas and rapid-fire releases, rjtheweirdo is choosing a different path: one defined by patience, prayer, and a radical commitment to the truth.
For this artist, “weirdo” isn’t just a moniker—it’s a badge of honour, an icebreaker that signals a total embrace of the flaws and insecurities that make us human.
Drawing inspiration from the soul-stirring emotive power of Stevie Wonder and the lyrical depth of alternative Rock, rjtheweirdo creates music that serves as a direct window into the soul. Whether it is the stripped-back vulnerability of see me or the intentionality behind every written word, the goal remains the same: to be relatable through accountability.
We sat down with rjtheweirdo to discuss the spiritual shift that changed their career, the dream of fashion school, and why they refuse to ever force the creative process.
What five words define your sound?
Accountability vulnerability versatile relatable emotional
Tell me something unique about your creative process
I hate forcing a song out, usually I like to take my time and allow the words to come to me, I like to be more intentional than fast
Which song of yours would you like people to hear first?
Probably ‘see me’ it’s one of my most vulnerable songs out, i feel like it’s a good introduction into my soul, so the listener can get to know me.
What inspired you to make that song?
It was on my heart when I was in the studio, so the words just easily flowed out
What’s the most vulnerable you’ve allowed yourself to be when writing/making music?
I’m always the most vulnerable in my writing process, if it’s not true it’s hard for me to resonate with it, so I have to write what I’ve really gone through.
